Instead of heading to the lake this Memorial Day, we decided to just go to Mom and Dad’s instead. We thought it would be a good idea for the kids to enjoy the pool, and Aus and AD weren’t able to make it to the lake anyway. We spent the whole week while Matt worked in Memphis and had a nice relaxing time. We had showings every day at the house, so it was a good decision to stay the week. We were able to visit Uncle D and see his new house. Mom kept the kids one night while Matt and I went to the Grizzlies game (which they lost – eliminated), and Mom and I were able to do a little bit of shopping one day. I guess you can say we shopped – we mostly tried to entertain 3 kids while we took turns in the dressing room. The rest of the week was spent swimming, playing with Mize, and just being silly and enjoying Pappy and Papa.
….. if this happened on day 1 of summer break!
I really wish I would have known what was under that shirt! When I took his shirt off later to get in the bath, he had green stripes that went all the way up to his shoulders and his shoulders were colored purple. When I asked what it was, he said he was drawing muscles like the Hulk’s. wow…..
How quickly this school year passed! I can’t believe it is already the last day of school and that Chloe has finished Kindergarten. Wow! Where does the time go? She was very excited about it being her last day of school, and K was celebrating with PJ and movie day (the reason she is wearing her PJs to school).
Chloe’s school did not do a Kindergarten Graduation, which I thought was a huge bummer – and so did her teacher! So Mrs. Burford invited all the parents to her classroom so she could do something special for the kids. They made tie-dye shirts earlier in the week, so the class wore those during the celebration. Mrs. Burford gave everyone an award, and Chloe won the “Smartie” award for her academics. Chloe was also given an award for completing the “Around the World” Challenge 5 times. She was the only K student in the school to do this, and I am so happy she is a bookworm like her momma! They ended the day with a little “Tootie-Ta,” and they even got the parents involved. I mean…. how can you not do the “Tootie-Ta” when the music comes on?? Glad there are no pics of that!
Chloe has had such a great first year, and she has absolutely loved going to school. Her teachers were great, and they did a great job of challenging her while also making school fun and enjoyable. It makes her daddy and I proud with how well she did, how happy she is, and how much she learned. First grade….. here she comes!!
We have rabbits in our yard all the time (which we love!), but one day this week, there was one dead right at the end of our drive way (neighbor’s cat is likely to blame). Ewwww!! I noticed it on the way to the bus stop one morning, and I tried to distract the kids so they would not see it….. but they did. They had lots of questions and wondered why the rabbit was not in Heaven. That got into a pretty deep conversation about how your earthly body will remain, but your soul will go to Heaven.
When Matt got home from work, he got the shovel, picked up the rabbit, and threw it in the woods by our house. Well, the next day, Cole went into those woods….. and what did he find?? Just the rabbit’s head. Some varmints must have eaten it’s body so Cole ran out yelling…. “Mom! The rabbit’s body went to Heaven but it’s head is still here!”
So…. we put our house on the market last Thursday. We had 6 showings Friday, 8 showings Saturday, and 7 showings Sunday. That is a total of 21 showing the first weekend. That means we had to be out of our house 21 times this weekend. That means it was a rough weekend for all of us. That means we are tired today…. and have 3 more showings this afternoon. Can I do this?!?! Poor, poor Caroline….. she’s catching some Zzzz’s whenever she can.
Chloe had her end of the year Kindergarten festival today, and we all went to join her. She was happy to have us there, and she is always so sweet to Cole at school. She always holds his hand and has his play right along with her. She is a good big sister to him (most of the time!).
And….. while we were here, I got six texts needing confirmation for showings on the house. Yikes!
I can’t believe we are doing this!! Actually, I can’t believe everything we’ve done to be able to do this! Since having a third baby was not enough crazy for us, we decided to get our house ready to sell and put it on the market. We thought about selling before Caroline was born, but I was so sick the entire pregnancy there was no way. So, here we are….. with a 4 month old baby putting our house on the market. It took us about a month and a half, a storage, help from grandparents, a painter, a handyman, landscaper, roofer, and me cleaning like a mad woman to make this happen. I can’t believe we actually made it happen, so here goes nothing!!! Fingers crossed!
