Chloe has been participating the Kid’s Marathon through her school. She has ran a total of 25 miles either with me, her daddy, or by staying after school and running with the school group. She has done pretty well, and it has been good for her. Today, she ran the last and final mile with every kid in Nashville that participated in the marathon. It was so crazy getting there, and it was even crazier once we got there, but in the end, it was all worth it. Matt ran with her while Cole, Caroline, Pappy, Papa, and I waited and cheered at the finish line. We were all so happy and proud to see her cross the finish line! It was the perfect ending to a long 3 months of marathon-money-raising and training! Way to go, Chloe!!
It’s marathon time!! Unfortunately this year I was unable to participate. I was sad to not be a part of the marathon, but I was excited to tailgate this year. We were going to have a great spread thanks to the Fusons, but that ended up falling through, too, because of the terrible weather! It was a complete monsoon this year! It rained – poured! – the entire race. Those poor, poor runners!
We hung out at the house watching the race on the news while letting Caroline get a nap. She awoke happy and we headed to Robert’s for lunch and post-race party. This year we had a small group of runners – Nicole Clark, Rebecca Regen, Lisa Starnes, and Ashley Waits. Even though the group was small, we are so appreciative of our runners, and we STILL raised $7,780.20!! So, in four years we’ve raised almost $50,000! Makes the heart happy!
We had a great turnout and a great day. A BIG thank you to all of those that donated and bought t-shirts!!!
We got a sweet, first giggle out of Caroline tonight. It happened in the tub when I was washing under her neck. Of course, I kept washing under her neck over and over to hear that sweet giggle again!! I got it a couple of times, but that was it. Can’t wait for the kids and daddy to hear it!
