Climbing Cole

I have been wondering how Cole has been able to get his milk off the top shelf of the fridge.  Lately he has been getting it, drinking a whole cup, and spoiling his dinner (and other meals).  I snuck in the kitchen one day and finally caught him.  I have busted him several times, but today I was finally able to snap a shot.  Usually, though, he is one step higher.  I haven’t been able to catch that shot yet!

She Tried!

With all the talk about snow tonight, Chloe came home from school saying her teachers gave them three instructions.  1).  Flush some ice cubes down the toilet;  2).  Sleep with a spoon under your pillow; and, 3).  Wear pajamas inside out.  Chloe did all three of those things, but we awoke to no snow.  Oh well!  She gave it her best!

The Tree is Up!

This year I was one of “those” people.  I just could not wait to get the Christmas tree up.  We have never put up the tree before Thanksgiving, but since we are going to be out of town over Christmas, I wanted to get it up.  Matt said absolutely not, but he finally gave in and helped me!

Just Because….

….. I think he’s cute playing in his big boy undies and Mama’s boots.

“My Hand is Stuck”

Those were Cole’s words today at lunch.  Matt and I laughed for a little while and took pics.  Then….. I tried to get his fingers out of the chair.  It really was stuck!  I had a hard time getting it out, and I eventually had to yank it out.  I know it hurt him, and his fingers looked like they may bruise.  After about 20 minutes, though, they returned to normal.  He keeps me on my toes!

Football and Birthdays

We headed to the Ross’s house tonight to celebrate Courtney’s birthday with some of our favorite friends.  They had a nice set up of the TN game, the Arkansas game, and the Bama/LSU game.  The food was delicious and the company was great.  There were tons of kids running around, and sweet Ellie was the picture perfect baby that slept through it all.  As usual, wish I had more pics!

Fall Trees

The older I get, the more and more I appreciate fall and the cooler weather and the beautiful fall leaves.  I didn’t get this picture at the right peak time of changing colors, but we have a group of three trees right in our front yard.  I always love when the leaves of those trees begin to change colors.

Baby Jesus

We were all at the table eating our chili last night along with some Frito scoops (which is actually my favorite part of chili).  Chloe had a pile of Scoops on her plate, and she suddenly and very excitedly said, “Look!  It’s Baby Jesus!”  It took Matt and me a minute to see it, but after she explained to us that it was Baby Jesus wrapped in swaddling blankets, we saw it!  So, Chloe decided not to eat him (and actually, today is Nov. 16, and we still have Baby Jesus with us!)  :)

Halloween 2011

Happy Halloween!

This year Chloe decided she wanted to be a wicked witch, and Costco had a costume just her size.  Then, my neighbor passed along a lion costume her child wore when she was Cole’s size, and it was precious!  So, my job was easy this year, and both kids couldn’t have been happier in their costumes.

Matt decided to get in on the action this year, so when he got home from work, he was telling the kids that he felt weird.  I’m not going to go into the whole “spill” of what he put on, but he kept telling the kids he didn’t feel right.  Then he would bark and growl.  He continued to tell the kids he didn’t know what was wrong with him but that something was wrong.  They didn’t know what to think, so he kept this up for quite a while.  And, every once in a while, he would let out a loud growl or bark.  I think he had the kids a little freaked out.  He went upstairs and after a while came down dressed as a werewolf.  They were NOT amused!  They wanted nothing to do with Daddy, and it really took a while for the kids to warm up to him.  If Matt was wanting to scare them, then he succeeded!

After all that drama, both kids were eager to trick or treat, so we got them dressed, took some pictures, lit the pumpkin, and took off trick-or-treating.  Luckily, our kids are still the age where we can walk just to the closest houses in our vicinity, and that’s enough for them.  They are just as excited to get back home to hand out candy to all the people that come to our door – which is a TON!!  I’m always amazed at how many people we have.  We ended up running out of candy, so we started giving out the kids’ candy that they just received.  And actually, it’s a great way to get rid of it!  Even after we turned out all the lights and hunkered down in the kitchen to eat our traditional chili dinner, we still had people ringing the doorbell…. until 9:00!  That does not work out well when you are trying to gear down two sugar-filled kids for bed!  No complaining though – it was a very fun night, and Matt and I enjoyed watching the kids have so much fun.

Pumpkin Carving

The kids were worn out after the Titan’s game, so we sent them for a quick nap, woke them and headed to our usual Sunday night Mexican, and then we got home and got to work carving our pumpkin for tomorrow.  Chloe, Cole and Matt picked out what they wanted the face to look like, and we all got busy!
